2:00pm Christina Jo

Our second performer will be Christina Jo. She's been a performer her entire life. "I grew up dancing on stages, acting in musicals and plays, singing on stage at choir concerts etc. I began writing my own music when I was 8, in secret in my bedroom. I’d write short songs which looking back were poems and post covers on YouTube in private."

In 2024 she began performing my own music live and releasing it out to the world.

"My drive for performing is just knowing that I’m meant to be on stage and that God gave me this gift for a reason, I think that’s what keeps me going."

Besides music, Christina Jo enjoys collecting handmade jewelry and painting ceramics.

She's most excited, "to hit the stage with some dancing, I’ll be performing a mix of covers and my own music as well. I’m excited to incorporate my culture and put on a show as well."

4:15pm The Theys and the Thems

In the transition from afternoon to evening we've got The Theys and the Thems.

Originally a solo project, the lead performer began making music *secretly* in 2017, releasing just one song on Soundcloud. It wasn't until 2025 that they began to put music out under the name The Theys and the Thems.

"Over the spring and summer I met the amazing and talented musicians that make up the core 5 members of The Theys and the Thems. We're "the most fluid band in the world" so it has also been amazing to be able to bring in others for special collaborations and performances. Making music has become a much more collaborative process making it infinitely more rewarding. I don't plan to look back."

Outside of music, they like screen and block printing.

As for what she's most excited for at MONfest? "We're planning to get a little extra Latine for this performance 👀 some cumbia? maybe some bachata?"

5:45pm De'An Keys & The Unique Vibrationz

Our final teaser for this newsletter will be a look at our 5:45pm slot - The Unique Vibrationz.

Their music has always been their outlet. "Now we get to be other people's outlet."

When not on the stage they see life as a creative act. "Fashion, drawling, cooking, and playing outside are some of our other acts of creativity."

"We are excited to be in the Middle of Nowhere with a bunch of folks who love music, art and community. And being able to contribute our sound to the space!"
